Health Insurance

Individual, family, self-employed, and travel
Your health coverage should make sense for the way your household actually lives. We compare the options, explain the tradeoffs, and help you choose coverage that fits your needs today while keeping the bigger financial picture in view.

Travel Medical Insurance

Planning a trip outside the United States? Travel medical insurance can help protect you from unexpected medical expenses while you’re away, including emergency medical care and medical evacuation. Coverage varies by plan, so we’ll help you understand what’s covered before you travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I enroll in an individual health plan?
For plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace, most people enroll during the annual Open Enrollment Period. In Nebraska, which uses HealthCare.gov, Open Enrollment generally runs from November 1 through January 15. Outside of Open Enrollment, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period after certain life events, such as losing other health coverage, getting married, having a baby, or moving.
I’m self-employed. What are my options?
Being self-employed doesn’t mean you have to navigate health coverage alone. Depending on your circumstances, options may include Marketplace plans, plans available outside the Marketplace, and health care sharing programs such as Medi-Share. Depending on your household and income, you may also qualify for a premium tax credit toward a Marketplace plan.
Is there a cost to compare plans with you?
No. There is no cost or obligation to meet with us and compare your options. We’ll help you understand the available choices, compare coverage and costs, and find an option that fits your situation.
How is Medi-Share different from health insurance?
Medi-Share is a Christian health care sharing ministry, not health insurance. Members contribute toward the eligible medical expenses of other members according to the program’s guidelines. Because it is not insurance, the benefits, requirements, and protections are different from those provided by an insurance policy. Learn more about Medi-Share.
Does my health insurance cover me when I travel abroad?
International coverage varies by health plan. Many U.S. health plans provide limited coverage—or no coverage—for medical care outside the United States, and Original Medicare generally does not cover health care received outside the U.S., with limited exceptions. Travel medical insurance can provide additional protection for eligible emergency medical care and medical evacuation while you’re traveling.
