Over a lifetime, families make countless financing decisions—car loans, equipment loans, credit cards, mortgages, and more. When you borrow from an outside lender, part of each payment goes toward interest paid to that lender.
The Infinite Banking Concept asks a different question: What if you could build a source of capital that you control and use it to finance more of your own purchases?
With a properly structured whole life policy, you can generally access capital through policy loans without applying for a traditional loan or obtaining credit approval from a bank. The insurance company lends against the policy’s cash value, and the policy loan is subject to the insurer’s terms and interest charges.
This doesn’t mean every outside loan disappears overnight. Building sufficient capital to finance larger purchases takes time, and traditional lenders may still have an appropriate role in your financial life. But as a personal banking system grows, you may be able to make more financing decisions using capital you’ve intentionally accumulated and control how you repay that borrowed capital.
Taking back control starts with understanding your current financing decisions: How much are you borrowing? What are you paying in interest? And what could happen if more of that capital stayed within your own financial system?
